Types of Concrete Sealer
Concrete sealer falls into two main categories.
- Film Formers form a barrier on the surface of concrete to block penetration of water and contaminants. Many also create a sheen or gloss, and are therefore effective for beautifying colored and exposed aggregate concretes to enhance the color.
- Penetrants actually penetrate the surface of the concrete (to depth of up to 4 mils depending on the sealer) and provide a greater water repellency and stain resistance to concrete. Generally, there is no appearance change change associated with these sealers...
